title: Pro tips
summary: Short tips that save time in Superwise, such as keyboard shortcuts, saved views, filters and the project picker.
---

These tips are short. Each one saves a few clicks every day.

## Keyboard shortcuts

| Keys | What they do |
| --- | --- |
| Ctrl K (Cmd K on a Mac) | Opens the search box for pages and projects |
| Ctrl / (Cmd / on a Mac) | Opens or closes **Ask Superwise** |
| Up arrow, down arrow | Move through the results of the search box or the project list |
| Enter | Opens the chosen result or sends your question to **Ask Superwise** |
| Shift Enter | Starts a new line in **Ask Superwise** without sending |
| Esc | Closes the search box or the project list |

## Tip 1: jump to any page with Ctrl K

Press Ctrl K and type one or two words, for example `bills`. Press Enter to open the first result. You do not need to open the menu groups. The same box switches to another project when you type its name. See [Find your way](../get-started/find-your-way.md#how-to-search-for-a-page-or-a-project).

## Tip 2: pin the left menu

Click the pin button next to the Superwise name to keep the menu open. Click it again to let the menu fold. See [Find your way](../get-started/find-your-way.md#the-left-menu).

## Tip 3: use the Recent list in the project picker

The project picker lists the projects you used lately under **Recent**. If you move between two or three projects every day, you find them at the top. Type in **Search projects** to find the others.

## Tip 4: save the views you use every day

Filter the list once, then click **Saved views** and **Save current view**. Next time, open the saved view in one click. Use clear names, for example "Orders not yet delivered". Saved views stay on one computer, so make them again on a second computer. See [Lists, filters and saved views](../get-started/lists-filters-and-saved-views.md#how-to-save-a-view).

## Tip 5: combine filters

You can use several filters together. A record must match all of them to stay in the list. When a list looks empty, click **Reset filters** before you look anywhere else.

## Tip 6: show only the columns you need

Click **Columns** on a list and clear the columns you do not use. The list becomes easier to read, and Superwise remembers your choice on this device.

## Tip 7: check the project name first

Most lists show one project. When a record is missing, look at the project name at the top left. It is the most common reason.

## Tip 8: open the record before you approve it

On the dashboard, click the title of a line in **Needs your action** to read the record. Then go back and click **Approve** or **Reject**. You have 5 seconds to click **Undo** after you decide.

## Tip 9: add the cards that matter to you

Click **Customize** on the dashboard. Site engineers can add the cards for progress and site photos. Managers can add the cards for cost and payments. A card that you do not need can be removed in the same place.

## Tip 10: add a screenshot to your question

In **Ask Superwise**, click the paperclip button to attach a picture of your screen. The assistant uses it to understand what you see. The file can be up to 5 MB. See [Ask Superwise](../get-started/ask-superwise.md#how-to-attach-a-file).

## Tip 11: start from the help link in Ask Superwise

When you open **Ask Superwise** and the panel is empty, it shows a link to the help article for the page you are on. Click it to read the full steps.

## Tip 12: look at the details without leaving the list

On a list, click the number of a record, or the small details button at the end of the row. A panel shows more information, and you stay on the list.

## Tip 13: use Report view for totals

Many lists have a **Report view** button at the top. It shows the same records as a report table. Click **View data** to return to the list.

## Tip 14: reset a page that behaves oddly

If a table shows odd columns or the theme looks wrong, open the account menu and click **Reset page**. Superwise clears the layouts and settings that it saved on this device and reloads. Your records are not touched.
