Compare revisions of a proposal

See how one proposal changed from revision to revision. Check the validity, delivery date, credit period, net amount and the rate of each BOQ item.

Where to find it
Contracts > Proposals
Who can use it
People who have the View Proposals permission.

A contractor can change a proposal after sending it, for example after you ask for a better price. You can also change a proposal that you entered by hand. Each change keeps the earlier version as a revision. The screen Revision - Comparative puts the revisions of one proposal in columns, so you see what moved.

This screen compares revisions of one contractor. To compare different contractors on one RFP, use Compare the proposals of an RFP.

Before you start

The proposal must have at least one revision. If it has none, the screen shows "This proposal has no revisions to compare."

How to open the comparison

  1. Open Contracts > Proposals.
  2. Show the Rev column if you want to see the revision numbers. Use Select Column at the bottom left.
  3. Find a proposal that has revisions.
  4. Click the Compare Revisions icon in the Actions column.

How to read the table

The first column is Parameter. Then there is one column for each revision: Revision 0, Revision 1 and so on. For a proposal that is Negotiating, Submitted, Awarded or Awarded to other, the last column is the current state.

The table has two parts:

  • Bid Details: Validity, Delivery Date, Credit Period, Payment Terms and Net Amount.
  • Pricing Details: one row for each BOQ item, with its category, quantity, unit and specifications. Each cell shows the rate and the net amount for that revision.

Next to a value, a small red or green arrow shows the change from the revision before it. For the dates and the credit period, the change is in days (d). For the net amount and the rates, it is in percent. Read the number, and do not rely on the colour alone.

A BOQ item that a revision did not quote shows a dash.

How to save the comparison

Click Export to Excel. The system saves the table as an Excel file.
